Things that are useful and possibly interesting

Us geeks occasionally produce things in our spare time that are useful to other geeks. Here are some of mine.

HTML 4.0 characters
I couldn't find complete charts anywhere, so I made some with the help of Russell O'Connor. These contain every named entity you can have in an HTML 4.0 document (with descriptions and optional inlined images of a sample glyphs).
Perl Spanish verb conjugation quiz (beta)
This runs on DOS (386 or better), DOS under Win9x, and Unix. You may need to edit verbs.rc first. The zip above contains a binary perl interpreter and other required files for DOS, but to run this under Unix you just need the code (available in this gzip'd tar file). You will probably want to add more verbs to the ones I've put in the database; all of this is explained in the built-in help.
Todo: add more verbs, handle reflexive verbs and the two cases of the imperfect subjunctive, add a feature to take a word and determine if it is a conjugation of a known verb, make a web version, and use a proper, complete Spanish verb conjugation engine (see below). Let's be honest, though; I'm highly unlikely to get around to this anytime before the next Ice Age.
If you want to see full conjugations for a Spanish verb, check out Comp-jugador by Daniel M. Germán, or Spanish Verbal Essence by David Kamholz. Source is available for both, and I've prepared a Win32 port for the former.
